AVA Care asks that our volunteers commit to a minimum of one shift per week. A shift is a three hour per week commitment during the times listed below. We also ask that you commit to a minimum of one year of service.
- Monday: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM & 12:00 – 3:00 PM
- Tuesday: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM & 12:00 – 3:00 PM
- Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM & 12:00 – 3:00 PM
- Thursday: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, 12:00 – 3:00 PM, 2:30 – 5:30 PM & 5:00 – 8:00 PM
- Friday: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM & 12:00 – 3:00 PM
Administers pregnancy tests and educates clients on pregnancy options, fetal development, and sexual health. Opportunities are also available for sonographers for performing limited obstetric ultrasounds.
(Positions available for both men & women) Cares for a woman and her partner who are facing an unintended pregnancy by listening, validating the concerns, offering resources, and providing education about options. (Male client advocates only meet with male partners).
Provides administrative and personnel support to the Director of Volunteer & Client Services and the Executive Director. This includes overseeing the day-to-day flow of volunteer activity during shifts including the front desk, phones, and answering volunteer questions. Other responsibilities could include assistance with maintaining client statistics, leading pre-shift prayer times, client and volunteer scheduling, and other related tasks.
Responsible for impacting the clients and visitors with a positive first impression by greeting and assisting in a friendly and professional manner. This position is also responsible for providing clerical assistance to the staff of AVA Care.
Serves as a third party witness to the ultrasound procedure for the purpose of liability protection for AVA Care and the sonographer.
Provides IT tech support to issues that arise with computers, email, the server and our network.
Assists the Executive Director and the Director of Advancement in developing design concepts and content for use in creating promotional and marketing material, client and donor brochures, as well as other print/online material for AVA Care.
Participates as a neutral party in the role as conduit of information that flows between the AVA Care staff and the (non-English speaking) client.
Converts AVA Care written material into another language. Specific needs include Spanish, Russian, and Arabic.
Provides general office cleaning on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
Assists and supports staff and other volunteers through a willingness to assume tasks or responsibilities necessary during their scheduled work hours. This can include sorting baby/maternity clothes, cleaning, stuffing envelopes for large mailings, filing, and other office tasks.
Represents AVA Care within the local church. Informs the Pastor and the congregation of AVA Care needs and upcoming events with information provided by the Director of Events & Church Relations.
Actively prays for AVA Care, its staff, volunteers and clients. Receives regular prayer requests for all areas of ministry provided through AVA Care. Attends regularly scheduled prayer meetings held at AVA Care.
